I have a friend named Joshua from India who has recently launched an online magazine called Illuminata. It’s beautiful check it out! Here is an audio of Joshua sharing his insights on Right thinking. Enjoy!
I wrote this which ties in with Joshua’s audio.
Right-mindedness is the training!!
Just like an athlete who trains the body through particular exercises, one who has had enough of the game of seeking and not finding in the world, has to begin to think differently. This spiritual muscle is one that is mostly ignored, or perhaps pushed completely out of awareness. It has to be exercised. Bring it to the “gym” and start to exercise right thinking!
Begin to question the thoughts that continue to reproduce the same experience of unfulfilled desire. The power is within you NOW! There is no need to go to the next seminar or read another self-improvement book. Turn within. Allow this inner power to come out of the recesses of your mind. Let it be known. It is here that you will find the essence of what you have sought for in vain, in the world, among things that never last.
Everything you thought would bring you love, acknowledgement, happiness, fulfillment or safety has never delivered in a lasting way. Sure, you may have short periods of seeming happiness. That is just the ego’s cloaking device designed to keep you seeking again as soon as the appeal of the last object of desire begins to fade. Whether it is the thrill of a new job, lover, or winning the lottery, it is all just recycling the quest to find lasting happiness where it cannot be found. Like the song says: looking for love in all the wrong places!
There comes a pivotal moment when you recognize the ego’s dictate of “seek and do not find.” (T-12.IV.1) You realize that you have been down this same road over and over, with the same results. Try something fresh! As A Course in Miracles teaches – look within your own mind for an everlasting peace and love that is not of this world. You will be amazed!
From A Course in Miracles:
“Salvation is nothing more than ‘right-mindedness,’ which is not the One-mindedness of the Holy Spirit, but which must be achieved before One-mindedness is restored. Rightmindedness leads to the next step automatically, because right perception is uniformly without attack, and therefore wrong-mindedness is obliterated. The ego cannot survive without judgment, and is laid aside accordingly. The mind then has only one direction in which it can move. Its direction is always automatic, because it cannot but be dictated by the thought system to which it adheres.” (T-4.II.10)
“This is the invitation to the Holy Spirit. I have said already that I can reach up and bring the Holy Spirit down to you, but I can bring Him to you only at your own invitation. The Holy Spirit is in your right mind, as He was in mine. The Bible says, “May the mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus,” and uses this as a blessing. It is the blessing of miracle-mindedness. It asks that you may think as I thought, joining with me in Christ thinking.” (T-5.I.3)
